Nouveaux restaurants à New York

Message par Didier »

Info envoyée par l'Office du tourisme de New York :

A Destination for Dining

In 2004, nearly 300 restaurants opened to the delight of diners from around the world. The outstanding arrivals showcase the quality, variety and hospitality of New York City dining.

The Modern (11 W. 53rd St., 212-333-1220, www.moma.org ) at the Museum of Modern Art overlooks the Sculpture Garden and offers original French-American cuisine by Chef Gabriel Kreuther. The Modern includes The Bar Room, a more casual dining and bar area, as well as a seasonal outdoor terrace and two private dining rooms. A separate street level entrance allows guests to enjoy the restaurant and bar beyond Museum hours.

The Meat Packing District offers eclectic eats. Vento (675 Hudson St., 212-699-2400, www.brguestrestaurants.com ) tantalizes with a casual, multi-regional Italian menu with dishes such as Grilled Sweet Prawns in Orange, Rosemary and Garlic, and an assortment of Wood-Fired Pizzas. For sensational Southeast Asia dishes by Jean-Georges Vongrichten, head to the popular Spice Market (29 9th Ave., 212-675-2322).

The Time Warner Center is the perfect place for great gastronomy. Asiate (212-805-8881, www.mandarinoriental.com ) at the Mandarin Oriental, New York, takes an artistic and modern approach to French and Japanese cuisine. Jean-Georges Vongerichten’s V Steakhouse (212-823-9500) overlooks Central Park and offers a creative spin to traditional steakhouse fare. Masa and Thomas Keller’s Per Se are also receiving much fan fare. Look out for the opening of Charlie Trotter’s seafood restaurant this summer.

Satisfy your appetite during the ever-popular Summer Restaurant Week , which returns June 20-24 and June 27-July 1. Enjoy delicious, prixe-fixe, three-course lunch menus for $20.12 and/or three-course, prixe-fixe dinners for $35. Nearly 200 notable New York City establishments will take part in this much-anticipated culinary event including quintessential eateries Eleven Madison Park, Mesa Grill, Tavern on the Green and new favorites, davidburke&donatella, Ono and others.

Miam miam...
