Webmaster a écrit :C'est une bonne idée mais je vous propose mieux : un forum en anglais !

http://nyforum.free.fr/forum/index.php

Il s'agit de l'équivalent du ForumNY pour la partie anglophone du site ©New York. En plus, il y a parfois quelques américains qui y passent même si ce forum est très nettement mois fréquenté. :? :?
I have just registered. It's a great idea.
Maybe someone could correct our messages, if time allowing. As far as I am concerned, I don't mind people correcting my messages.

I've been connected to the forum in English a few times, but I must say you are not very keen on writing in English.
Only two or free messages, for instance, in "Welcome to the bar"
What are you doing, folks ?
Don"t take me wrong, I"m not being rude.
Merry Xmas and Happy New Year !

Yes J've seen this forum et except Patricia (the ony one) : thre's not a lot of people !!!!

Hum my english is very goooood :?
OK, Audrey, but YOU too are concerned if there are too few users of the forum in English.
Even if your English is not very good, as you say-and there is only one way to tell:participate !-You MUST try and write in English.
I am expecting you to write there.

In NYC, if you can say:" hi, sorry, byebye, thank you" you're a lucky guy, for more than this, take a big smile and a good guide

I know, I go out...

I think the best way to make people talk is to start a discussion topic, so far everybody's speaking about ... nothing much

For instance: describe the last time you had to speak English.

For me, it was at work, a few weeks ago. We had three guys coming from Brazil for a week-long kind of training. They were really nice guys, but only two of them were speaking English (of course, French was out of the question). The problem was, the third guy was the most eager to speak, and it took him ages to make even a simple sentence (and it used to come out so badly that nobody understood). So every time he spoke, we waited patiently until he was over (which could be quite long) then we would go "Yeah, right, OK" and then we went on where we were before being interrupted...

It made me think of the "fly-boat" (anyone remember the TV ad with the young French boy talking to the English girl? "And after, Eiffer tower, and flowers, and fly-boat....").
